Day 2 of Meditation

Calm app · free table · Janet Jackson

Today I finally tried the Calm app ~ and it made all the difference.

01The Meditation

I used Calm's 7-day meditation program. The structured guidance helped ~ having a voice walk you through it means the mind has something to follow instead of something to escape from.

Time passed without distraction. That's progress from Day 1.

Structured. Guided. Better.

02The Free Table

Julie from Facebook Marketplace insisted on giving me a free table. Despite my hesitation, she wouldn't take no for an answer.

I had planned to take the metro ~ until I stood next to the thing and realised it was neither metro-sized nor metro-friendly. An Uber it was. Friendly driver, successful delivery.

The Uber cost $35. A free table that cost $35. The math is debatable ~ but I'm thinking about repainting it, which would make it worth every cent.

In the elevator on the way up, a woman around my age helped with the table. We exchanged Instagram. She works at Air Canada. We might hang out.

“People here are so nice. Making me love Montreal all the more.”

03Today's Dance

Coach Rama of Uplift514 taught Janet Jackson choreography today. One of my favourite routines so far. The kind of class that erases everything else.

This is why I'm extending my stay.

Day 2 done.

Better meditation. A free table. A new potential friend. A Janet Jackson routine. Not a bad Thursday.

28 more to go.
