Last night, I had a dream about getting on a plane. I thought it was just a straightforward trip ~ a destination to reach and settle into.
But as the story unfolded, I realised something: it wasn't a direct flight. It was a connecting flight. I had already left the airport ~ settled somewhere I can't quite remember.
01Dreams and Their Twists
In my dream, I missed the connecting flight ~ a stroke of luck, as it turned out. News broke that the airport I was supposed to fly through had been engulfed by wildfires, just minutes after I left.
The chaos was unimaginable. The media was ablaze with stories of the havoc. People were panicked, stranded in the wake of a disaster.
02Atlanta, Georgia
As I stood there trying to process everything, I sought help from the locals. At first I assumed they were Spaniards ~ then I discovered I was in Atlanta, Georgia.
I had been so focused on reaching my destination that I hadn't even noticed where I truly was.
“It's not safe for a lady to take a cab by herself here.”
I was about to head back to the airport when the locals warned me against taking a cab alone. Adding friction to my impulsive decision ~ bless them. I thought of taking the train instead, thinking as if I were in Europe.

03Embracing the Unplanned
This dream stayed with me long after I woke up. It's fascinating how our dreams are a blend of so many things ~ echoes of our conscious and subconscious thoughts intertwining while we sleep. How beautifully we are created.
Sometimes, we miss the connecting flight. Sometimes, the airport is on fire. And sometimes, we're in a completely different place than we thought we'd be.
A chaotic mix of Southern charm, blazing chaos, European flair, and travel hiccups ~ all concocted into one whimsical nocturnal escapade. I wonder why Georgia popped into my dream. Maybe I should reach out to friends I had there.
Maybe that's the beauty of it.
The unexpected detours may actually save us.
And you ~ what have you been dreaming about lately?
In the end, I was saved from the fire. Not by a plan ~ by a missed flight.
